Default Wind deflector XK8

Does anyone have experience with Aperta wind deflectors? They are sold through ebay, shipped at a reasonable cost from The Netherlands, and appear to have a good color match (beige) with my interior.

Any information regarding quality, ease of installation, or price competitive alternatives, (Aperta with shipping to USA currently at $240) would be greatly appreciated.

I would be interested in this as well because my interior is beige/coffee and I don't want a black frame on a deflector

For the X100 there are basically two types of wind deflector.

1. The sort where you have to drill into the leather and is quite complicated to fit. If I remember right you have to remove the back seat too.

2. The sort where you have to remove the Pad type thing that lies above the B Pillar, the one in the middle of the car behind the seat, and attach an S shaped bracktet then the Deflector attaches to that. On the other side you actually have to drill a hole in the top to fit this bracket as only one side has a hole already drilled.

If I can find my posting on the subject I will put a link up here. Brb.

Update
.

Turns out I did not do much of a write up. But you get the gist here. http://www.jaguarforum.com/showthrea...=1#post1018860

There is a link on the link that shows you what to do. Hope it helps.

I can see what you mean. I had exactly the same thought. However the risk and hassle of removing seats and drilling into the leather etc put me off.

The car has a black wind deflector now and to be honest it does not look out of place at all.

I forget the name of the one I purchased off e-bay, but was a simple install ( no seat removal and not as work intensive as depicted in Gus's post) and I just leave it up all the time. Nothing ever in the back seats. If I need the room, it's a simple raise up the back portion. Works great. Is beige ( Looks fine with my white and dark interior). Looks great.

Cheers

I just back checked and the one I purchased off e-bay was for 294.25.(in Aug of 2016) That included shipping. There are a number of them from different named dealers, but the part number for them all was the same. From Germany. Shipping fees very an awful lot.

Cheers

Just Roadster LTD was £175 and no special fittings needed, in and out of car in about 30secs. Would not be without it. 2013 XK

I just modified my wind deflector for my 450SL, if it works out OK I will do the same for the XK8.

Cutting, welding, painting and polishing converted my conventional wind breaker to this.

I have this exact one in black; it came with the car but it's rather easy to assemble/disassemble and didn't ruin anything in the interior.
