Default windows

We have recently purchased a 2003 XK8 convertible, my question is that when you close the door to exit the car the window goes down a little bit sometimes, and when you close the door after exiting, the window goes back up sometimes. Does pulling the inside door handle have anything to do with window going up/down, or does anyone know what we are not doing correctly, or what is the solution to our problem.

The Jaguar locally will not work on 2003 and older vehicles.

Thank you,
John and Lin

Hi John.
If you open the door from the inside, the window has to go down slightly, so that the window does not stick to the rubber. If you close the door from the outside, the window has to rise again under the rubber lip. If the battery is disconnected you have to reprogram the windows. Shut down the window and press the switch for 5 seconds until you hear a CLICK. Then raise the window and hold the switch again for 5 seconds until you hear a CLICK again. You have to do this for both windows. After that, it should go. Works with my XK8 1997.

John,

You've already done an Intro so all technical questions about your XK8 should be posted in XK8/XKR forum.

XK81997 has already explained about the automatic window drop feature and how to reset the window travel limits. One more thing - unusual window drop behaviour is also often one of the first signs of a partially discharged or failing battery.
