hi just bought a 2000 xkr, when i exit the car or the passenger the window opens with the door handle ,the window then stays open about a quarter of an inch even when i turn the alarm on ,can anybody help as the drivers handbook is missing.

 

XK8. You will need to reprogram the window. To do this you push the window down button and hold until you hear or feel a click. Then push the window button for the window to close and hear or feel the click. This should be done when you are in the car and the door is closed. The window should operate properly by opening a slight bit when the door is opened and close when the door is closed.

Most often caused by a weak battery

 

cheers for the help. when i purchased the car there had been a problem with a battery drain caused by the phone .the battery has been replaced and the phone disconnected ,could this have been the cause of the window problem

 

yep anytime the windows sees below 10.5 volts they loose the memory setting
