Default Windows will not go back up

I have a 98 XK8 conv, been sitting for a few month for the winter. Started fine, runs fine, but somehow both windows will not go back up after opening and closing the doors. Switch works fine. I can lower and raise both windows, but they will not come up automatically as they used to do after the door is shut.
Any suggestion or advice is very much appreciated.

Thanks

When the battery is low or disconnected the windows may need re-trained.

Press and hold the down switch and after about 5 seconds you will hear a faint click. Press and hold the up button and after about 5 seconds you will hear another click. That teaches the up and down positions.

Repeat for the other side.

Do this when you are in the car and the doors are closed. Also charge the battery first.
