Default Windscreen interior pillar

I've noticed a few indentations on the interior pillar of the windscreen in my car. My passenger has been putting feet up against it and has put pressure against it when getting in & out. There appears to be a very thin foam behind the fabric of the pillar that is not going back into shape over time.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a fix to this - besides banning the offending passenger?

This is a common problem with a lot of cars, not just Jaguar. There is, indeed, a thin foam backing to the fabric. It rots and flakes off leaving unsightly wrinkles. The complete solution is to remove the A pillar covers and replace the upholstery fabric. The fabric is available on line or through a local auto upholstery shop. Use a 3M spray contact adhesive made for auto upholstery.

The covers just snap off.

Some have just removed the fabric, brushed off the rotting foam and reattached rather than handle a color match on a 10+ year old car.

Test point is right on the money. Try wlsheadliners.com for the material and adhesive. Do not guess at the color, but call or email them with your make and model and tell them if it is the tan or the grey version.

Also topsandseats.com has the matching material, but you will need to call them...it is not on their website separate from the full headliner kit.

While you are at it, check your header over the windshield...that usually deteriorates at the same time.

I'd love to see how your passenger put's his feet on the A-pillar when getting in/out
