Default Wiring Harness Brittle Plugs

Just wondering what some of the members here do to make sure brittle plugs that break are repaired or remain together the right way.

My Dad has always commended me on how much I take my time (hours and hours) to make sure all plugs, wires, breather hoses, etc., remain in tact and are treated with 100% care. One of the main reasons I dread letting anyone work on my cars as well.

Alas, the plug on the left (driver side) of the throttle body on my Uncle's XK8 was so brittle I put my thumb on it and the release disintegrated.... Sometimes, there is nothing you can do I understand, but what is the accepted and appropriate ways people repair?

Thanks as always, I chime in where I can and help, and this forum has helped me immensely as well.

There are multiple electronic parts vendors that sell a variety of plugs, harnesses, microswitches, etc. which will fit perfectly in the various applications we need them for. And there are a number of forum members here who are very familiar with these vendors. I have found that if you post your issue and describe it thoroughly, one or more of these experts will direct you to the proper vendor (and sometimes to the exact replacement component you need)....

I have had the same sad experience. I found Ballenger Motorsports who have a comprehensive selection of connectors. If I remember correctly the four pin TB connector on my 2000 XK8 was a Sumitomo connector.
