Wood Dash Removal on Passenger Side

Wood Dash Removal on Passenger Side
Hello, the wood facia or veneer on the passenger side of my 2005 XKR has a crack in the clearcoat and it bothers me everytime I look at it. I would like to remove it to send to Madera Concepts to refinish. However, this is proving difficult. I have remove the glove compartment to gain access, however, I am not sure what is next. I don't know if the wood veneer is held in place with clips, or if I have to remove the airbag too. I have an older version of JTIS and it shows (for a 2001) that I can remove the veneer separate from the airbag. I have read some posts about this in the past, and it looks like the airbag assembly needs to be removed to get the piece off. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of this? Especially any photos or diagrams would be nice, as I don't want to break this piece and really be in for some big bucks.
Thank you,
Nick
