Wood on Portfolio
I hate to ask and I know I've seen it somewhere on the forum but can't seem to find it again. The 2004 XKR Portfolios, like mine, had some kind of weird wood on the dash instead of the usual walnut. A judge at a concours today asked me what it was and I blanked out. It is a light bronzey finished wood. Anyone know off the top of your head?

Sapele is some neat stuff
Interesting, my carriage house doors are made of Sapele.
That stuff will irritate the heck out of your throat and lungs while cutting, sanding, drilling it so you start hacking, at least I do... must be the oils in the wood. But the doors have held up great for almost a decade. Soft wood, but tough against bugs and elements, and good looking too

It seems to be used in musical instruments primarily although Cadillac is using some for interior trim. I seem to recall Jaguar used a little copper in the stain for this application.
At one time I was hoping to find a three gauge panel that matched so I could install the Real gauge mod but finally gave up.
