Both beautiful examples. The coupes look so much better than the convertibles.

But nevertheless is the convertible my first choice.

I don't know if I would go that far, but certainly compared to the E-Type (XKE), where the coupe looked like someone had abandoned a garden shed on the car as an afterthought, I think that the X100 coupe is certainly just as good looking as the convertible.

Some people prefer the coupe and some prefer the convertible... I think we should just leave at that

Indeed they do. You look as smug as I did! What year is yours? I'm on my tablet and it doesnt show signatures. I have burr walnut as my dash with beige vinyl above. Yours I think looks as tho is the darker dash with black vinyl?

It's a late 52 plate so is actually 2003 4.2L model. Yours? Probably one of the only other UK owners on here!

I was trying my best to act natural

My dash is black on the top but has the same veneer as yours.

My son seemed to quite like it too!

From what I know Jaguar Racing Green was only introduced for the 4.2 model.

Actually our veneer is different, mine must be maple??

No idea why the steering wheel doesn't match...

Also no nav in mine!

Similar on the outside but not so on the inside.

The steering wheel never matches.

I thought that all of the 4.2 XKRs came with the nav system, was it a special order to get the gauges?

On my '06 Victory Edition XK*, I had a leather shifter, and steering wheel, Elm dash, and Nav. Personal preference I switched to 3 gauge Walnut dash, walnut steering wheel, and walnut custom shift knob.
I now have an extra leather wrapped steering wheel, Elm dash(nav system) and a extra walnut shob.ift kn. Anyone who can use these, let me know by a PM. I.eap will sell very cheap.

Mine matches the area under the windscreen, but not my leather.

The leather on my steering wheel matches the top of the dash too. I was referring to the wood of the wheel not matching the veneer.

I'm jealous of your cup holders! Really wish I had them as absolutely no where to put a drink in my car.

Don't be, you aren't missing anything useful. The first advice I got when I got my X100 was:

Cup holder often fails. When operational it works better to distribute contents of cup(s) over back seat before hand as that is where contents will end up when under heavy acceleration - this is normal. You can also dump it in your lap or the passengers lap if you plan to turn first. Either action saves a step and comes as less of a surprise.

I swapped out my unusable cupholder for a non-cupholder armrest from an XJ sedan... forget the year. Had it trimmed out when I recovered the seats with a leather kit... not a perfect match but pretty close. So yes, I don't have a cupholder anymore, but in reality, the OEM unit was completely worthless and I never used it for the reasons noted above.

The dash panels are all made from the same tree but the wood on the steering wheel is something else. Seems that regardless of the wood type on the dash the steering wheel wood is always the same and seems closest to walnut in color.

One potential advantage of the convertible is that the top adds an additional color, which can enhance/compliment the base color:

Hi MediaBobNY, Love the tan top. Was that special order? Never seen one like that in the UK. I am assuming that the colour is the same as mine - Seafrost?

Hi DougXK8, the tan top is stock and original. I try to park in shady spaces so as not to fade it. Yes, Seafrost - which there were 2 versions of: metallic and pearl. My '05 XK8 has the pearl version

Enjoying some jag time and donuts while my daughter feeds horses. Nice way to start the day!
