hi guys,just wondering if the in car phone wireing loom is fitted as standard to the 96/05 xks ,and if so is it just a matter of pluging the phone in and setting it up,its the jaguar Motorola phone,i can get the code number of the phone if more info is needed,thanks

 

Don't you have a cell phone? The in car phone seems like an odd thing to add to the car in the 21st century.

 

Here's a perfect example of why we ask members to add vehicle details to their Signatures.

The Jaguar phone installations changed considerably between 1996 and 2005 going from hard wired analogue such as Motorola StarTAC or M8989 through to Bluetooth.

In each case, part of the required harness is in the car regardless of whether an OE phone is fitted or not but there is always additional harness, connectors and interfaces required to complete a retro fit.
