Can anyone help please. I have 1997 XK8

The black paint around the front windscreen mouldings is flaking off, i got a price from jaguar to replace them and nearly fell of my chair!

Also both my key fobs which are not attached to the key have seized working, no life as told by jaguar also charging silly price for new fob and coding!!

Any recommendations would be great

Hi Ian,
If you are handy with a rattle can, sand them down, apply acid etch primer and then satin black after carefully masking the whole lot.

For the key fobs, take the back off and clean the switch contact points then insert a new battery, might just cure it and will save a lot of money.

I had the fob problem, bought a backup off e-bay for under $50 (get the correct one).
There are plenty of threads on how to identify and program a replacement remote, I won't repeat here. Few minutes searching the forum should get you all the info you need.
Programming involves some steps like opening the bonnet, running around the car three times, honking the horn and summoning a valet with the remote valet page button, all whilst pressing 7 buttons simultaneously. . .
