XK8 97 - Oil Pressure Issue
Hi all,
Have recently purchased my firstJagXK8 (1997) and have been having the time of my life for the last couple of months.However just recently everytime I brake the oil pressure dial drops down to red and the alarm panel on the lcd dash board flashes up saying oil pressure low.
Before I go head first into changing the oil or having someone come out to look at it does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Definitely get it in to have the oil changed and ask the shop/10-minute station if the oil was low in the first place. i wouldn't wait on that either, could be dangerours to your engine and then report back if the levels were good prior to the change. This is an issue that I haven't heard of before, besides the obvious.

I took it in this morning and the oil level was really low, so completely changed out the old oil and put in mobil 1 OW/40 and the problem seems to have cleared up. Will be taking it out on a good run on Tuesday so will keep an eye on the oil dial to see if it repeats itself.

If the oil is finding a way out of the engine, that could be bad news in the long run. Be prepared if you document the loss over time. Get the car up on jack stands or a lift if its a fast leak and look for the trail of synthetic blood.
