Default XK8 convertible top troubleshooting

Has anyone seen a troubleshooting procedure for the convertible top operation? I have the JTIS, but I can't find anything in it. When the ignition switch is turned on, the latch control valve and the top down relay are both energized and remain that way as long as the switch is on, but there is no movement. Pressing the top operation switch in either direction produces no results. Thanks for any help!

Good luck! Please keep us informed as to what you find. The tops are overly complicated and can go bad in myriad ways. Always appreciate learning from others' misfortunes. ;-)

Mine had low oil level in the reservoir. Could not find any leaks. Checked the whole length of the hoses. I topped it up and it was fine for a few years, then it started slowing down. checked and fluid was a little low again. Mystery fluid! I added the resistor kit to lower hose pressure. That is a good idea. Do it before the "Green Shower".
