Hi, I'm new to this forum. I've owned my 1997 XK8 sports convertible auto 3980cc for over 20 years and the old girl is starting to get a bit temperamental. Local garages can't always help so thought I'd join this forum to access some expertise! Latest problem is the door open light won't go off. The window dips down further every time I open the door. I can't make the window go up or lock it. Any ideas? I'm supposed to be driving my next door neighbour to their wedding in a week's time in her so any help appreciated. Thanks!

 

Sounds like the door closed micro switch has failed. It's a cheap part to replace. The definitive guide is here:-
