Found a wire in the trunk that is not connected and trying to research and understand. WTH!

Jagrepair.com is a great resource. You probably won't find the connection in the wiring diagrams. It is most likely the isolation transit connection that was used for shipping and when the isolator was removed the connector was just tucked out of the. The other alternative is a connector that has 12 volts on it when the ignition is on.This is an auxiliary connection.
A picture of the connector would be best for a definition of what it is.
