Yes, you should be concerned. Stop in at your local AutoZone or AdvanceAuto and get your codes read. You can also do a "hard reset" and see if it clears the light. There is some issue or the light wouldn't be on.
I concur, for that car with all of those issues (none of which keep it from actually being used) a price around $2500 would probably move it pretty quickly. Heck, I might even take a stab at it, if I were local. As is, most of us here with the *****/stupid enough to try it have to factor in shipping costs, which don't make it feasible. Put it on craigslist for $2850 and let them negotiate it down to $2500.
My big fear, based on my limited experience owning a 2003, was that part availability is limiting what all I can do to keep one of these things on the road. That, and I'm getting too old to want to bother with the hassle.
