Hey Guys,

Today the Santa Monica Sports Car Club (SMSCC.org) organized a Rally to the Race. We had a small relay in the morning that ended at the Fontana Race Track. Then we were hosted by the SCCA and given a chance to drive on the big oval and the competition course.

So we come off the track and park back in the infield, and someone says -- Hey look your tire is melting.

So we inspect the Front Pirellis and the tread edges are just oozing hot sticky rubber.

So I start taking some pics of this, one of the track officials comes up to see whats going on and we show him the melted rubber. He explains that its not my tires melting, but that my tires picked up all the inferior rubber spread on the track and that it was melting to my tires.

 

looks like a fun day! I can see some feathering on your inner front tire, could have a little too much toe out dialed in.
