Could someone give me some idea about where to find a fuel door actuator and the plastic receptacle (piece on the door the release button engages) for a 1998 XK8 fuel door.

Is the release button on the dash not working or is the release mechanism on the flap door broken?

The dash release button is working...your illustration is very helpful, in understanding how the system works. Would you have the instruction on replacing the latch mechanism or a parts breakdown for it?
