I have swapped the mirrors from my 2005 w. compass to my 2006 which was without a compass. It poweres up, but doesn't work. It shows "1:00" then a "C."
I was hopeful that it might be simple and I didn't know if it would work anyway. Anyone have any ideas? Or was I wasting my time to start with. I miss the compass feature,

 

The "C" means "calibrate". Thrat means that you have to drive in circles until the compass unit figures out its orientation with the world. Also, you need to input your magnetic declination zone into it.
The compass mechanism is all self-contained in the mirror.
The compass setting process is iterated in the owner's manual.

As far as I know all the electronics are contained in the mirror, so your swap should work. Please update the thread if you get it to work.

 

Sorry, yes it did. I took it up to the local church and drove it in a circle and it self corrected. Works fine now.
