Default An XK8 owner (again)

Drove home a super clean 2000 XK8 Coupe yesterday. Turns out one can drive all the way from San Diego to the Bay Area on one tank of gas (over 500 miles in my case!) Of course, it could not get home without throwing codes. New gas cap ordered.

Ex-wife had a 1997 in 2002-2003, but engine destroyed itself in timing chain mishap, no help from Jaguar. I don't forgive, but apparently, I do forget.

How do you like the coupe vs the ragtop? I am trying to decide.

Congratulations on the car, don't forget to make sure the tensioners are good this time.

@Norri Yes, tensioners upgraded 4 years ago to the current metal version.

@Brucelee I chose coupe this time as I already have another topless car. My previous XK8 was a convertible. Very nice automatic top. But you can never lock it.

Congratulations. From what I read on the forum, a coupe is a rarity on the West Coast.

The must be very small. I can't see it.

Congratulations on the car. Where's that pic gone ?
From your user name I presume you can supply Snake Oil to Forum members ?
Could you send me some Soft Top hydraulic variety (of course with hose burst prevention and seal repair properties) since I can't get Pentosin in France ?

This may help:

You can either link to online storage such as Photobucket or upload JPG's directly from your PC.

(I enlarged the thumbnails in your post for a closer look)

Beautiful condition.

You're so lucky to be in a State which doesn't require a front plate to be fitted. Keeps that clean look.

CA does require a front plate, although I've never been stopped or ticketed for that in my other cars with the exception of city parking tickets. I consider it "vanity tax" and just pay them without adding the plate.

I'm going to try a plate transport on the Jag for the times I have to park on the street.
