Along with year, mileage, options, and condition, the value also varies depending upon where you live. You may want to spend some time at various car sites such as kbb.com, nada.com, edmunds.com, etc....

IMO, 97, 59K miles in average condition. You live in Vancouver so if car has lived where they salt roads rust will be an issue. No service records. I'd say $6 to $10 K depending on service issues.

If the tensioners have been done, it has no rust, is in very good condition, and it isn't gold or green, about $8000-8500 for a quick sale. More if you wait for the right buyer.

I bought my 97 XK8 2 years ago for $8000. 88,000 miles, new engine, new tranny rebuild, new front brakes. These model years have engine tensioner problems and your tranny will fail at 85,000 miles. (Ask me how I know.) Search this site for common problems. I'm not saying don't buy the car, just know what to expect.
It took me 2 years to find my car and then about 5 months with the owner to get the right price. I'm really happy with this car!

How do those colors affect the value?

Very interesting comment about the Gold/Green color, can you clarify?

I think the gold are green are some of the more desirable colors, but I don't really know if it would effect the value.

I'll probably get some hate mail, but I would think that gold or green would be less desirable colors and therefore not be worth as much - I have heard car salesman refer to a green car as being "no sale green"... but it is all personal taste. If you like the way the car looks, that is all that matters. No offense to those with gold or B/R Green jags... I drive a "Home Depot Orange" motorcycle so what's that say about me??

Google "car color popularity" images and you can see a million charts that show that overall gold and green account for like 5% of all car colors - and there is a reason for that... 80-90% of all cars are white, black, silver, red, gray or blue.

I like the green X100s but, gold is a color that has never appealed to me. Everytime I see a gold Jag I see it uglier than any other color Jag.

I think (dark) green is ready for a comeback. I'd do it... I'm tired of shades of grey personally.

IMHO BRG and opalecent silver blue are the two classic Jaguar colours.

These colors are hard to sell. They are perceived as old colors. Black is a love it or hate it color, but preferable to gold or green. The red cars sell the best, especially with chrome wheels.

Interesting dialogue about the colors. As I was shopping for my XK8, I held out, quite along time, for a BRG. I assumed because they were traditional Jag colors that folks would hold on to them, but it might be that they dint make many and they're just not popular. Either way, i love mine and love the color, its fitting for such a beautiful, British machine.
