Xk8 Rear Suspension Bump Stops - £20 or £98
On one of my '99 XK8's rear bump stops the rubber has parted company with the aluminium mounting. For the XK8, the SNG Barratt parts list says MJA3750AB (price £97.43), which is also suitable for the XJ X308. Also listed on SNG Barratt for the XJ X308 is the part number MNC3750AA# (price £19.20). Huge difference in price and same mounting holes.
Given that these are parts that only get used very occasionally, like when two adults are lubricated and squeezed into the rear seats, and then driven at speed over a speed bump, whilst bringing home concrete patio slabs in the boot (trunk), I'm not sure it matters which gets fitted as long as it passes the MOT.
Anyone tried fitting the cheap one to an XK8?? Do they fit ok?
