1999 xk8 stiff suspension!
Hi all.
Re the XK8's suspension. "1999"
Can alternative dampers be fitted for a more comfortable ride??
It seems that std non adaptive are quite firm!
That or my rears are a bit stiff with age,"90k miles", and it was laid up for a year.
I know the bushes rattle,so I am going to replace both the dampers.
I want a softer, less teeth jarring over bumps ride,so want to fit the right ones!
Really need to compare mine to another?
Anyone in the North Bristol,,BS37 area got one that we can compare ride comfort with?
Regards Dave

Hi all.
Well I have bought a new OEM pair of std rear dampers at a very good price, and will fit them next weekend as long as they have arrived by then.
The set up and fitting is very similar to that of my Rover P6 V8 so they shouldnt pose a problem.
Lower damper bolts are not rusted or worn,as I have had them out, just hope the rest undo ok.
Any tips any of you have on the fitting of rear dampers gratefully recieved,as forewarned is forearmed!
Have read a few bits and bobs about fitting them, just incase theres a fiddly bit,but it all seems pretty basic spannering stuff!
