Default XK8 runs rough on start up
I started my 99 XK8 up to day after sitting for about 8 weeks,she run rough for 15 - 20 seconds then smothened out,head gaskets leaking?timming chains,it started quite? No codes

If you have no codes...... I would look for an air leak first..... would of thought it would run continuously rough if it was an air leak but worth a check

She is probably just trying to tell you that she did not appreciate being left alone for 8 weeks.

Did the rough start happen once or every time?

no never done this before,I start her her again in a couple of days,road are to bad for driveing
