Default xk8 sway bar removal

Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and currently working on an xk8 for a friend. He bent his sway bar with a minor driver side acident. I have removed the endlinks and bushing mounts and the bar can be spun a few degrees either way. From what i can tell, removal of the bar can be accomplished by placing a jack under the motor carriage and removing the two carriage to chassis mounting bolts then lowering that carriage just enough to let the bar slide out the front. could anyone verify or correct me. any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you consult your JTIS yet? I often go to it when I need to determine what other part(or parts) has to be removed to get to something, if something must be lowered/raised, etc. Sure, we can undo some bolts and mounts, but removal is a little more involved. We have a link to download the JTIS software installation onto a CD, just do a forum search for JTIS. Should help you here.
