XK8 window operation
The driver side window in my xk8 is acting up. When rolling the window up, it gets caught twice in between the down and up positions. This also causes the auto-index to not work. I do not believe it to be battery related as the battery is relatively new and the passenger side is perfect. It is also not fixable by a window index reset, as you need to be able to roll the window up in one press to reset it. I do notice the window alignment is a bit off; I believe it leans a bit toward the front of the car. However, when I took the door apart the only window adjustment I could find was the in-out tilt, no evident forward-backward.
Did they make a year or two without the forward-backward tilt, or is it possible that the previous owner damaged it beyond recognition? (Anyone who has read my control arm posts will not find previous-owner-accusations to be beyond reason.) Any other ideas of why the window would behave in this manner?

Sounds like a slight alignment issue to me. Sometimes lubing the window channels will help. Some folks have applied minute amounts of graphite powder that is typically used inside locks and ignition switches. It can be messy but it often works. Others have used common spray lubricant but its effects usually do not last as long as graphite powder....
(BTW, the in/out tilt adjustment does not require removing the whole door panel; just the puddle light lens.)
