Default XKR convertible - Body stiffening?

I know this may seem like an odd idea but I am going to put it out there.

I have an 01 XKR convertible and I find that at times, the body seems to flex quite a bit.

This may well be normal for these cars, I am not sure.

I recall reading an article about how Mustang tuners will install braces in the engine bay to stiffen up the body on Mustang convertibles that have had engine & suspension upgrades.

Is anyone aware of someone having tried this sort of thing on an XKR convertible?

I know that it would likely involve some custom fabrication etc. and I am not afraid of that.

Look forward to your thoughts.

its been discussed, carbon fiber brace across the engine bay, but nobody has moved towards a prototype. There was a thread in the XK8/R section somewhere. I think it was a pic from either a mustang, or an aston martin.

Here's the image and the link to the site that manufactures them...

Wow - if that were a bolt-on item (and it worked), I want one in the first offering - and I'm definitely not a DIY guy - but "r" does shake! DaleD

That shock tower brace is okay for corners but won't remove your flexing. Coupe Corvettes use an X brace bolted to the frame under the car to stop flexing when removing the top. It was standard from the factory for Verts.

I have sub frame connectors welded to the bottom of my SHO that REALLY stiffen everything up.

I have two braces under my car, one under the engine bay, the other in the rear. Maybe beefier x-braces would fit the bill?
