Default XKR convertible roof creaking

Hi, the roof of my convertible is creaking when closed. It seems like the noise is coming form the front of the roof. Is there any adjustment that can be made to pull the roof down tighter to stop the creaking.

Thanks

Have you had any work done on the header like a hose replacement?

Hi Gus. I have only recently purchased the car but knew the previous owner quite well and have all his bills etc. for work done and am not aware of any such work having been done.

If the hose or the latch ram were replaced it could be that the rack for them was not aligned properly or is loose. You need to find out if any work was done.

Thanks Gus. However it is sad to say that the previous owner died one week ago of lung cancer, so unfortunately I will not be able to find out if anything has been done

Your best bet is to remove the interior covering for the header to see if the bolts are loose or need readjusting.

Thanks Gus,

I'll see what I can do, although it may be a while as I am holiday soon.
