Default XKR Door Mirrors Not Working

2002 XKR. Mirrors have not worked for some time. I have replaced the motors and fitted a new door switch. The front windows have always been fine. I have checked the mirror heater fuse all intact. Any suggestions of what the problem might be. I am very frustrated.

Do you have memory feature?

If yes, do mirrors move with that?

Sorry I tried replying to the email and it bounced back, John.

I do have the memory function. That woks for the seats and the steering wheel, but not the mirrors.

Thanks for your help.

Those mechanisms sit idle for years and when it's time to work they have forgotten how.
If I want mine to work I have to exercise them, operate them and give them some help with a finger. Then they may work. For a little while. In one direction only, usually.

Wanted to acknowledge your reply. This says the problem is not the switch, we have to look closer to the motors. Try Greg's suggestion let us know.

It's sure unusual for both sides to fail simultaneously without a common cause.

thank you I’ll try that. I just hope it’s that simple.

I have had some success as predicted. Mirrors move in one direction only. Strangely I only worked on the drivers mirror and both started responding. I will keep massaging them to see if it improves further.
thank you all
