XKR EVAC problems p0447 p0453
Hi all
I have a jaguar xkr 2000 model with fault codes p0447 p0453 which are pointing to the evac system and fuel tank pressure sensor. I have located the evac unit LJB 1515AA which is in the front left inner wing area I have tested the 2 pin connector there and I have 12 volts, I disconnected the intake pipe and can feel that the unit is drawing air periodically meaning it appears to be opening and closing. Checked pipes from engine to the inner wing all seem to be in tact and when everything is attached there is nothing obvious. Using the live data I have 0 reading for Evac purge valve and evap valve monitor and 5 volts fuel tank pressure (vapour recovery system reving engine there is no change when switched ignition off and back on voltage reduces from 5v to 3.5v and slowly goes back up to 5v again.
This is as far as I got so any help in moving further towards a solution would be much appreciated. There are a few other DTC’s P1696 is recorded but I don’t think that has anything to do with the EVAC so would like to address that later unless you think it is relevant also p1000 and 0x00001671 (code not defined)

I would suggest finding and reading all TSBs related to your car.
Jaguar addressed many issues over the years of known faults and solutions.
Here are some that might relate to your car.
Most are VIN specific but general understanding of systems might also help.

The P0447 is probably a bad CCV. Mine had to be replaced. It's located at the rear of the car, between the charcoal filters. At least on the US spec cars.
You appear to be checking the purge valve, located near the left front fender/wing.

Thank you motorcarman the first 2 relate to my car being a very early xkr it appears the charcoal canister is in the front inner wing with the purge valve and tank pressure control valve there does not appear to be canisters to rear of the car at all and I have yet to find the FTP as it is not on top of the tank it has been suggested that it is part of the fuel pump inside the tank on this early model?
