Default XKR Hood Louvers

I wondering if anyone has had issues with the paint chipping around their hood louvers. Mine seem to have a little wear from engine vibration. Has anyone found a good solution for this? Thanks

I haven't heard of this problem, but if your louvers are loose a small amount of two sided tape would probably prevent them from vibrating, They just snap in and out but mine are tight, where they don't vibrate.

Thanks RCSign. When I first bought the car I thought I was just seeing excess wax between the hood and the louvers. At some point I'll pop them out and try doing some touch up. I want to find a way to prevent it in the future but I don't want anything to show. Minor detail... but that's what it's all about.

Louvers on mine had been replaced but where they fit in the paint is chipped in many places. Had me wonder if prior owner took the previous louvers out by chipping them out.

Forum member George Androulakis in New Jersey tells me that he frequently sees chipped or flaking paint on the hood louvers of the XKRs that pass through the weekly Mannheim auction in his neck of the woods. I assume those louvers are plastic and we all know that plastic parts can have trouble holding onto their paint as the years and heat cycles go by....

The louvers themselves are in excellent shape with no chipping or peeling. My issue is just around the edges where they meet the hood.

same with mine, it's the paint on the hood next to the louvers that is problematic.
