Anybody have any experience with smashing the oil cooler by nudging a curb or speed bump? Wondering if there isn't a way to relocate such a sensitive component that barely clears the ground to a safer location.

 

The mounting brackets for the cooler can be flipped 180 degrees (so the studs/nuts point downward instead of upward). This allows you to raise the cooler roughly an inch. Not a huge amount but probably reduces the collision risk a bit and should not have a much effect on airflow. I have done it and I think at least one other person on the forum has done it.
