Question XKR-R Manual Transmission Swap?

Hello,

I have been looking around for the XKR-R Manual Transmission swap.
Does anyone have any more information about this?

XKRacer has done it, but it is apparently very difficult. The biggest problem is tricking the electronics into not giving you any error codes. I'm sure he'll chime in soon.

Even Jaguar themselves couldn't get the error code to disappear (video @ 60 secs).

I have driven in the XKR R, and Frog is right, they did not bother with all the error codes, coming up with 'incorrect part fitted', 'gearbox missing' made me chuckle the most.

@ Miami I beleive you have left the XKEC, Norman on there is developing a manual gearbox conversion using a 5 speed box with the correct ratios to the diff, this will come with a box of tricks to fool the TCM and ECU the auto box is still there.

However IMO I would do away the ECU and see wether or not the little box of tricks supplied by Jaguar Specialties which they use to lump a XK would work with a stand alone system but allow for all the instruments to work as it does with their conversion. The problem I have is the OE ECU is geared up to work an auto and you will not be able to map it properly to work with a manual, it will work but you will not have the functionality of a stand alone system, you will get more power and many more options.
If it was possible you could do a manual conversion for not too much money.

LOL. That is so funny. A manual transmission is on my wish list for the X150 XKR. I wonder if anyone will ever find a way to swap one in!

Hey, I just joined (as a result of a new to me, XKR175) and was really missing the manual shifting/connection to driving ( that I just changed from), and saw this thread. I see it has been a few years!
Have the years been good to us and a kit now exists/or a conversion company to do a manual gearbox??? or am I only dreaming......
