I did mention everything was dusty and dirty, but if you look closely you’ll see the carb manifold sitting backwards on the head. Luckily there is sufficient room under it to reach and adjust the distributor.
The manifold it’s sitting on was intended for my BlackJack but the new owner of it didn’t want to pay extra for the supercharger, so I kept it. Those three 2” SU’s will be replaced with the big 1200cfm double pumper Holley

1984 Bahama speed week where we could street drive the Race car from our hotel on the Beach to breakfast and then to the race track.
I’m sure I annoyed the hotel guests with that loud unmuffled race car with megaphones At 6:00am

Building my CKE V12 roadster in the learly 2000’s
The top picture is the whole rear axle assembly rod godly mounted to eliminate bump steer . Notice the trailing arm coming in at a 45 degree angle to pivot at the same pivot point of the inner lower suspension arm.

the bottom picture is the cockpit with my custom dash ( still using smiths gauges the round aluminum tank is the 5 gallon dry sump.
the roll bar is patterned after Hroup 44’s famous car.

My favorite race track. Elkart Lake Wisconsin it’s 4 miles long with 3 brutal straights and 9 really tough sharp corners that really cook your brakes and you haul down from high speed.
You’ve got to have power, brakes, great handling ( the carousel is an off camber 260 degree corner that leads onto the back straight)
Fantastic food in the concessions ( reasonable prices too since they are run by church groups etc)

Hills and woodlands and a charming resort atmosphere. Antique shops.

That will take a couple of easy hours. Alignment is done by the two alignment pins that both Jaguar and Chevy share. ( due to use of the GM Turbo 400 transmission).

I built a rotisserie makes working on the chassis a lot easier. The mounting points are the mounts Jaguar built in for the bumpers so it’s about as sturdy as it gets.
It’s on wheels so I can shove it into the corner to gain space

Making this took me a morning. It adapts a V12 to a Chevy manual transmission bell housing. A drill press and a way to cut aluminum are the only required tools.
Oh and a piece of cardboard to transfer the holes location.
The post 1977 Jaguar bell housing uses the same locating pins location as the Chevy bell housing does. So no need to worry about the critical alignment.
How thick a plate you start with is determined by which transmission is used. For street use I recommend buying

This is what you will wind up making. I cut this on my bandsaw but it can be done with a hand saber saw
Simply trace the inside of the bell housing and the outside for its shape. I use thin cardboard as a pattern to start with. The two alignment holes are the only one hyper critical. When you are drilling the holes the bolt holes are slightly oversized. But the alignment holes need to be exactly to size and location. I drill slightly under size and then ream to the final size. This is what the adaptor looks like. It’s an easy Saturday morning job to fabricate. Just use transfer punches. Thick ness determined by which transmission is used.
