Having recently completed the install of the R1 brakes all around, they sit well behind the Montreal’s on my 03’ SV8.

The bolts that go through the orange colored (rust) bushings and into the body could’ve been accidentally left loose while replacing the rear shocks and upper mounts. Basically what he’s touched needs to be double checked to make sure all the fasteners are tight. I’ve made that mistake before when I’m in a hurry.

It’s called a cooling system cap seal. You’ll need a 17mm Allen head socket to remove it. I install new cap seals with silicone on it. It’s a non moving part but is just as prone to leaking as much as the rear main oil seal itself. I know, it makes no sense.

Above the rear main seal is likely your oil leak.

I was with Sean on the size thinking it was a 27 but, a 25 wouldn’t even fit. The correct size is a TS20. I *think* the “S” in TS20 only means “security”.

This TB is off of my 50k mile XJR engine that’s never been adjusted. If you look closely, you can see that the TPS bolt is actually a 5 point vs a typical 6 point Torx.

The underside of the same lid shows 4 pins together for the fuel pumps only and the other 2 separated pins are for the sending unit.

Those 6 pins in the white connector are *hopefully* what you have in your fuel tank now. 4 of those pins are for the dual fuel pumps (2 pins for each pump) for the supercharged engine and the other 2 pins are for the sending unit. Even though you have a naturally aspirated engine (1 fuel pump only), there will still be provisions for a dual fuel pump setup.

This is the fuel sending unit for the 01’+ XJ8. The additional wires on the left is part of the fuel pump harness.

This is the fuel sending unit for a 98’ XJ8 that would be located on the rear most of the factory tank. You would’ve had 2 individual wires plugged into the top and center pin of this sending unit.

This is for an 00’ XJR from RockAuto but, I can say with just about 100% certainty that if these were installed on a bone stock car that the CEL will come on with catalytic efficiency codes. I think they should make used factory cats available to the public from junkyards.
BS Politics!

Early clock on the left.
Later clock on the right.
I know the 98’s had the early clock. I’m not sure when the later clocks were installed. My wife’s 00’ XJ8 has the later clock. So either the later clocks were in the 99’ MY or 00’ was the first year.

I got two feet of the hose. I used about 3” of it to connect the new brass adapter to the bottom of the tank and the rest to connect to the pumps. I knew that I was going to be messing with a plastic tee and would’ve compromised it so I just ditched it and got the brass one so I’d never have to go in it again. I used 2 hose clamps at every connection. It was likely overkill but, I didn’t feel like messing with it again. Keep in mind the prices were from last year. $30 a foot today.

May of 2018. Drove a lot on the highway. I discovered that the engine and transmission are original as the matching vin numbers to the rest of the car.

This is not my Series III but, I have in my possession an 87’ I6 (original owner) and I cannot imagine where an auxiliary fan for the battery would be located at in a cramped V12 engine bay. Just out of curiosity, can you edit this picture as to the location of the auxiliary fan is at if it was a V12?
