This is the piston out of the block and the retraining ring above. The front black oring I am going to replace. This is the one that has failed causing the seepage. The rear ring is the one that moves the piston in and out.

Here I used a small allen wrench and pushed in the hole. Then I was able to use a pic to remove the ring.

The hole is actually used to help push the retraining ring up so it can be removed

This is the cylinder out of the car. I saw the little jole in the cylinder block and thought I must have an keeper screw to hold the piston in the block.

This is the part you will more than likely need. Quite often the black plastic piece that locks the tube in will break, from being over 20 years old and the heat cycles. If it does break you will only need to replace the black plastic piece.

This shows the table with the combo on it . To the right is the engine that is going into the car. In the background is what my wife calls crap.

Remove the steering column from the rack. I had to remove the lower shaft from under the dash and was then able to push that section into the cabin enough for the exhaust manifold to clear.
