JustDrive is now available! A quick take and some pictures
I just decided to take a quick look at the App Store and found JustDrive for JLR out! According to the details, it's been out since Nov. 12th. Must've missed it since I've been busy.
Anyway, here's my quick take using my iPhone on my 2016 F-Type. Overall, my first impression is that it's EXCELLENT. Though I haven't used it enough to find bugs or issues, thus far, it's run flawlessly and is a vast improvement over the normal interface.
To start, it loads with a welcome screen running through your name, the weather, etc. and then land on the main screen with 1/2 map and 1/2 launcher (not sure what to call it) view. You can see that I have a song streaming off bluetooth. The pics are in night mode since the car is in my garage.
It does, as advertised, take voice commands in a natural manner. What's interesting, is that it write out your command on the screen, repeats it by voice, and then executes the command. It appears to use Siri, I think, since that's the same way Siri works on iOS and it even uses Siri's voice. Either way, it seems to work just as well. Once, it didn't work and gave me the Siri's usual "I can't process that right now, please try again later."
That map view can be expanded to full screen. The music playing can also take up the entire left half of the screen as well.
Other thoughts: Yes, it allows swiping, such as to scroll through playlists. The navigation app apparently includes traffic and runs right off the phone bypassing the stock navigation. This is great because it's buttery smooth and leaps and bounds better than the stock navigation.
The first downside I noticed is that the info screen on the dashboard between the Tach and Speedo only seemed to show "Bluetooth Audio." Thus, I don't think it'll show navigation turn directions on that display like with the stock unit. Not a big deal since the voice prompts are clear thanks to Siri. Another downside is that I'm not sure what other apps work with it other than Pandora or NPR radio which it refers to automatically. I haven't had a chance to play with it much yet, so perhaps it will?
Overall, I give this a huge thumbs up!

That's awesome.
I just downloaded it to my 2015 and it appears to be compatible. Shows on the screen. Loads up. However it says I need to update the in-control apps software on my car and directs me to either my dealer or jaguar.com where I can download via USB.
Another cool thing - it appears to have Spotify integration which means we should have some degree of Spotify control now through the screen.
Obviously it's night time and I'm married so I'm not going to do that now. But will try in morning.

Another sign this is an *** backward Auto manufacturer. No link on website to download software updates despite fact that incontrol screen says I can download an update to a USB on their website.
I can't believe they aren't setup to do software downloads online. BMW has been doing self-service bluetooth and other USB software updates for 6 or 7 years now. It's such an obvious thing.
I challenge someone on this board to find this download link (for an incontrol apps USB software update). Otherwise I will go into my dealer in am.

Incontrol music app will work for all music, artists and albums. But for playlists, it will only work for some songs unless you subscribe, for a fee, to Apple Music, a cloud based service. Weird. Since I just randomize my entire library and just skip songs I don't want to hear with the steering wheel control, I don't care.
