Default Our cars sound like 1980s Group B rally cars... discuss

I have been enjoying the charms of my 6MT F-Type V6S over the last week and my housemate mentioned something that stuck in my head. With the loud button pressed we have decided that the car sounds like a Group B rally car. Now there's a possibly tenuous connection here with the Jaguar XJ220 being powered by the Metro 6R4 lump and I do seem to remember a conversation with a Jag engineer a couple of years ago that suggested they looked to the XJ220 as inspiration for the exhaust note.

Pontificating aside I absolutely love the exhaust note of my car and seek out tunnels and underpasses wherever I can and I think my neighbours are starting a petition to have me evicted.

Yours obnoxiously,

F-Type owner of San Francisco.

+1000

I took somebody for a ride the other day and let off the throttle and it must have popped and cracked 10 or 15 times. The passenger (and me) loved it

I have yet to drive through the Caldecott tunnels, but it's on my list of things to do.

I hope mine doesn't sound like that. Those group Bs sound like angry bumble bees to me.

Love it. I was heading that direction with the Cooper, now I can just upgrade the exhaust to an F-Type.

That would be one hell of an upgrade!
