New owner in CT
Hello all,
Not by any means new to cars. Been building, fixing since I was 13 years old.
Now at 47 I bought my first Jag.
Its a 1998 XJR. Purchase not running and in need of fuel pumps.
After a day of fusing the the fuel lines and two battered and bruised arms the tank was out and pumps replaced. GREAT!! Fire it up!! Not so fast. PO said car was sitting for about 4 week. Think it was a little long as according to DMV it it a year past due date for emissions. Need less to say I had one cylinder with 90 lbs of pressure, a couple with 30 and 2 with 15psi. But after some reading here on the forum and learning about cylinder wash, a shot of oil in each hole, and a new set of plugs she is up and running and roaring like a cat should. With a little extra rumble from the SC coupling.
So on to the next issue, power seat and tilt problems. Found a thread here already but...
Anyway, glad to be here and always glad to help when I can and always appreciate YOUR help.

Welcome to the forum convincor,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
It sound like you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
