New XF HUD and polarized sunglasses

New XF HUD and polarized sunglasses
When I test drove the new XF, I needed to remove my sunglasses to clearly see the HUD. They are polarized and I thought it was normal since none of BMW HUDs could be seen with polarized sunglasses. However, my sales guy was surprised. He wears regular glasses so never tried to see the HUD with sunglasses of any sort. But he said that he had been told in training that Jag's "laser" HUD had eliminated the polarized sunglasses issue.
I don't really care. If I need non-polarized, it's an excuse to buy a new pair of sunglasses! But I just wanted to ask the experts here what their experience was with the XF's HUD and sunglasses.

By turning up the brightness I can see easily with Oakley polarized sunglasses with the gray lenses. That said, if I wear a similar pair with the Black Irridium polarized lenses it is very difficult to see at all. So in my opinion, it is as much a factor of the shade of the glasses as much as the polarization.
