fuel tank removal

fuel tank removal
I have fuel leaking somewhere on top of the tank - '04 X-type. It seems to leak only when full ,I also have pretty much all the EVAP codes ,so I am trying to remove the tank. I am at the driveshaft removal point ,but haven't figured out where (and how) the joints at the transmission and rear differential come apart. Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Butch

Here is the Service Manual in pdf form.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/xp...Manual.pdf.zip
Section 310-01 ( page 1841 of 2810 ) cover fuel tank, a subsection covers removal.
I have to be careful when filling up or I get gas odor for a short while.
I'll be interested in seeing what you find.

Well I have the tank out, and the Jag. service manual leaves a bit to be desired. If I have to do this again, I would remove the fuel filter and it's mounting bracket. I am looking at the top of the tank and there is a cover opposite the fuel pump. On this tank it would appear that someone else tried to address the leaking, or code issue as there is a cable tie around this cover. Now I need to know if this cover is available. I am hesitant to remove it without knowing what it is covering, (This Jag. has a 3.0 gasoline engine). I also wonder how the fuel is drawn out, as the tank is like the saddle tanks on some older trucks.

A parts manual in pdf form lives here.
http://www.coffeeshopmenus.org/Parts..._2000-2005.pdf
Under fuel tank there is something called a Seal, Sender on one side ( part number C2S008592 ) and a Ring, Pump Retaining ( part number depends on VIN ) The other side has a Seal, Fuel Pump and Ring, Sender retaining ( part number on these depends on VIN.
