Disconnecting Battery Gear lock?

Default Disconnecting Battery Gear lock?
I have owned numerous jags, post pre 1988. I was told that if I disconnect the battery that the gear selector will lock in park. My current Jag is a 2005. Is this correct? If so, how do you change the battery and reset selector?

Looks like you posted in the X351 forum. you might want to try the X350 forum for an answer.

All I had to do on my '04 XJ after changing the battery was to reset the parking brake. Certainly didn't have to reset anything to do with the gear selector.
