Power Steering fluid in the Cooling system?
Hi there,
A few months ago, on my '89 XJS 12cyl 5.3L Rouge, my power steering went out, and have been out of country so hadn't had a chance to get it fixed yet. Just recently, I filled it with fluid and noticed that the water was lee king into the power steering form the radiator. And visa versa. As if it is all one system. Anyone have any ideas on what is going on?
Thanks,
Chris

Steering fluid/cooling fluid mixed
I have a 1996 XJ6 with 90,000 miles. While driving today I heard a strange noise like a humming sound. When I got off freeway and turned into gas station the power steering was very hard to turn. When opening hood, I had steering fluid pumping out of the fluid holding tank. After it stopped pumping out, I opened lid on tank and everything was foamy looking. I then checked cooling tank overflow tank and it has power steering fluid in it. Mechanic caid I needed to tak it to Jag dealer. While driving to dealer it overheated so I shut it down and towed it back home (Closer than dealer).
I noticed that steering fluid line goes through radiator before going back to pump. First time I noticed also that it looks like engine driven power steering pump (No belt)
My guess is the radiator has developed a leak between cooling and power steering cooling portion. I didn't checl transmission fluid for issues.
Anyone had this problem? HELP!!!!!
