If Jaguar were redesigning the XJS Today what suggestions would you like to make?

I also agree.
Sometimes I would think of more power, like what I have with my more recent SuperV8 4.2 SC, and then I realise that I like to drive the XJS smoothly, enjoying its smooth ride and cool "décalé" look.
Even the iL6 is then powerful enough for the purpose compared to the V12 I was first contemplating for its sophistication and "last of", as the six ensures reasonable consumption and good reliability.
So what? Let's enjoy our old cats with their niceties and oddities

Nah. There's no way an XJS will do 265mph, unless you strap a rocket booster to it. This is especially true if, as I saw them do in the video, you lower the gearing from the stock 2.88:1 to 3.something:1. That will make it come off the line, and out of the corners quicker, but, it will kill your top end. The stock shape of the XJS wouldn't allow for 200+mph either.
