As I live in a moderate clime, my cars have used 20-50 dino oil for decades. No Jaguar V12's albeit. And, I graduated to the 5K or once a year interval. , so far...
I prefer Valvoline or as sold under the CARQUEST label. Why? Because it is often on sale there. Have I used other name brands, because of a sale, definitely.

5W/30 fully synthetic say I, any well known make whatever is cheapest! No discernible wear on the cams or followers after 100,000 miles and not even a witness mark. Changed at 7,500 miles or 2 years whichever first.
I have to say, as long as you use decent oil and change it regularly, I do not suppose it matters. But on here, as every other car forum, everyone has their favourite, and "which oil" threads attract loads of comments.
