Question Airbag yellow light turns on

Hi.
My 2007 XK, ocasionally, turns on the yellow light of the airbags. At the next day, the light might work as it should, until in one or two more days, the light comes on again.

Any tips before taking it to the official Jaguar service?}

Thank you

PS, I haven't seen any blinking; my XK has only one yellow light in the dashboard for all airbags.

As Guy said, the first thing to consider is the age of your battery. When the battery gets old & cannot hold a good charge, you will start to see strange 'faults' that come & go. In most cases, there is no real fault, it's just that the module that controls the sensors has not started up properly because the voltage was low. After you drive the car, the battery is charged, so the light goes away; if you leave the car for a few days, the battery gets low, and the light comes on again.

Thank you all for your comments.
It could be the battery. I still have the original one, from 2007, and don't use this car frecuently, so the battery can be low. I will check this.
A new battery should be bought on a Jaguar dealer, or can I buy any brand battery with the same especifications that fits the place? A friend with a BMW, bought a new battery that did not work correctly, and had to buy another one on a BMW dealer.
The fault ocurred with an empty passengers seat.
Thank you, again.

Any battery of the correct specification will be fine. According to my workshop manual, the original battery is a Varta T8, 90 Ah, 800 A cold cranking.

The battery should come with a kit to vent it to the outside though if it does not fit the existing vent pipe adapter. This is for health and safety to prevent gas from building up in the interior of the car when it is charging since it is in an enclosed space.
