Interior or exterior door handle?

The interior one's trim is held by a screw and clips and the door handle itself is held by the mechanism which actuates it.

If I told you anything about the exterior one I would be lying, as I don't know anything about it.

My 1998 XK8 had the same problem on the passenger door. The top was coming lose and the bottom was still attached.
I left it in place on the bottom and pulled the top out a little for access.
It appeared to be a dark double sided tape, like is used to hold most emblems on todays cars.
I pulled off the double sided tape as best I could.
I got some "Amazing Goop" at Home Depot, and cleaned the surfaces, put a good amount on where it wouldn't show, held it in place with tape for an hour or so, and it's held tight for the past 3 months.
I was able to do this without removing the door card, and the little bit of excess that did show, I was able to wipe off with a clean cloth before it dried and before I put the tape on.
Maybe there's a better way, but this worked well for me.

Good question Giandanielxk8.
I was describing what repair I made to the exterior of my passenger door.

Interior has a screw (hidden by a little plastic plug over the screw; exterior is held on by 2 bolts - I had to replace the gasket between the door handle and the door - a little bit of a pain but overall an easy task

What you pulled off was your door handle seal, a pretty expensive item. Steve was right the door handle on the outside is fastened with two bolts. You have to take your interior door panel off to access them. See Steve's video above

I would advise against home repairs like using generic hardware store glue to fix interior and exterior trim items. Often the part is a readily available push pin or plastic snap fastener. Using glue is messy and a waste of time.

If you cannot source the proper fastener, double sided tape or adhesive at an auto supply store, then go directly to a reputable body repair shop. They will have the proper professional products that: (1) will work right the first time, and (2) will not harm your paint or interior.

The outside door handle is held on by two bolts and as stated before, you need to take the inside door panel off to get to them.

I found it easiest to use a box wrench to tighten then rather than a ratchet, just because of the tight space. I *think* the size was 8mm but it's been a while ago that I had to make that fix.
