Default Audio Help

Alright, I am now sold on going aftermarket, but to get the setup I want it might take a little time. To use my stock system until that time comes I am hoping someone can help me figure out what the heck is wrong with my current system. And yes, I have used the search engine and cannot find anything that has worked. There are 2 seperate problems. I know there are more audio savy people then I.

Problem #1.
I have seen a thread on this issue, but it just seemed to answer no questions. My in dash cd player doesnt work. I try to insert a cd and it will go half way in and not pick insert it into the player. Also, when I press the cd button it reads cd error.

Problem #2.
Cd Changer. I was going to let the 1st problem slide then I relized there was problem #2. The changer has power to it as it will eject the cassette, but when I press the CDC button NOTHING HAPPENS. I took it apart and checked the platic gears and made sure they were mated and put it back together and nothing. Still has power just no playing or picking up the cds or playing them either.

ANY help is appreciated AND thank you in advance.

Well, I was afraid the head unit is shot. Yes, the cds are put in with the label facing up and are in right side up. Thanks for the help 12volt.
