Default cd player problem - Alpine 2003 xkr

I have had problems with the cd player in my 2003 xkr. The last time I took it to be repaired I was told it needed to be replaced and that Jaguar had stopped making replacements. I ended up taking the player to a local stereo repair store, where it was supposed to have been fixed. When I tried to use the cd player the screen for the stereo displayed the message E - CD1. Any ideas what this means and/or how to reset the system so it will work again? Thanks in advance.

moved you over here for some more help

Did you try another CD, it appears that disc in the magazine is not being read. If it persists, and all CDs in the magazine are not able to be read, you can buy replacement units from ebay.

I have one in my XK8 if you want it, I haven't used it in 2 years. Works 100% though, guaranteed. reply here with your email address (i'll delete it after I read it) since you do not have PM privileges, and I'll let you know how much to get it shipped to you.

Noted your number dancing (I suppose I can call you that ) I'm replacing my navigation in a few days, and will disconnect the CD changer at the same time. I want to be sure my NAV works w/o the CD changer in the Ai-net chain, before I remove it entirely. I'll be in touch.

I did an ebay search, and you can pick up a changer (if mine can't be removed) for approximately $75 <- that's not too bad. Just find a 'guaranteed' working unit, and seller willing to back his products.

I've got your number jotted down at home. I was in the middle of replacing my NAV unit on Monday, but the salvage part that I received, did not work. As such, I was unable to test the system w/o the CD changer inline. Sorry for the delay.

Get your post count up, and you can PM anyone you like in the future.

dancing, you still want a working CD changer for your car? I've removed mine and willing to sell cheap to you. I've got your number, just need to know if you're still interested.
