If you have the ACM/iPod integration, you may be left wanting to stream music instead of being tied to the cable. Also good if you went to iphone 5 as ACM connector is 'old style' connector.

I have been using these Griffin BlueTrip devices for some time around the house to stream music to stereos around the house. So, I decided to add one in the jag and take advantage of the ACM's RCA (red/white) inputs.

1. Purchase a cigarette lighter (multi voltage and multi tip) adapter. The griffin device likes 12volt, so that helps.

2. Fish a set of RCA cables through the glove box. I used the hole where the USB and RCA cables feed toward the ACM control box.

3. Find a spot to tuck the griffin blue trip device. I placed it on too off the silver data recorder under the dash.

4. Connect the RCA cables onto the ACM input and to the griffin device's output. Get 12volt from the cigar lighter in the glove box and plug the other end to the griffin.

Those more comfortable with car electricity will hard wire this. My way is no cutting/splicing, so easy for anyone.

5. Pair the iphone with the griffin and stream music. On the jag, hit CDC just like you would to play USB or hard-wired iPod/iphone.

I also tried a plantronics unit (pictured) by the sound was "thin" and it also seemed to suffer from more noise.

This one is powered via 5v USB, so a 12v cigar adapter would not have been required.
